2021 COVID Protocols Last year saw many changes to health and safety protocols instituted at St. Anthony School. All safety protocols to keep your children and school staff safe and healthy were considered and implemented. Your support was critical to the success of the protocols. The Catholic Schools Office has announced that until at least October 1 all Archdiocesan parish schools will follow the state's mandate that all students and staff be masked while indoors. The only exception will be when students are eating meals and if a student has a medical note excusing them from mask wearing. This applies to students 5 years and older. We would strongly encourage our younger students to wear masks as well. In addition the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) has updated its guidance for Fall 2021. At St. Anthony School we will observe the follow: Masks: No masks will be required for any outdoor activities All staff and students will be required to wear masks while indoors. Masks will be required of everyone, vaccinated and unvaccinated, in the health office and on school buses. Vaccines: Covid vaccination of faculty, staff or children may not be mandated as presently Covid vaccination is not mandated by state law. Handwashing/Facility Cleaning: Until deemed unnecessary by DESE and local, state and federal health agencies, St. Anthony School will maintain frequent hand washing/sanitation and our recently modified facility-cleaning protocols. Daily reporting of any Covid cases: As required of every Catholic school, St. Anthony School will provide to the Catholic Schools Office a detailed daily report on any new Covid cases. Information sent via email to families in August 2021: With COVID and the Delta variant still present, we are pleased that Saint Anthony School has been approved for on-site COVID testing. What this means is that a team of professionals will be at the school to do COVID testing. We MUST receive consent from a student's parent or legal guardian to do testing. NO student will be tested without consent. Students with consent will be tested simply and quickly once a week, scheduled now for Tuesday mornings, starting September 14th. Symptomatic students with consent are eligible to be tested any time. Attached to this email is an informational introductory letter and consent forms. Please read the information and sign the consent form. Consent forms can be sent back on the first day of school with your child or emailed to the school. English, Spanish and Portuguese informational letters and consent forms are included.
