We would like to welcome back our returning students to Computer Class and say a big “Hello” to our new students! We have another exciting year planned as we continue our journey learning how to use computers.
We will begin by practicing keyboarding. This will continue through autumn and at various times throughout the school year. We feel it is very important to learn how to touch type and become at ease with the keyboard.
Younger students will use skills reinforcement software to enhance their classroom learning of language arts and math. They will practice manipulation of computer program tools and enjoy creative arts through Kid Pix and other programs.
We will learn Microsoft Word, as well as the other programs of the Microsoft Office suite - PowerPoint, Excel, and Access. Students will progress through these programs, mastering more advanced features with each year.
Classroom learning is integrated throughout the year with internet research and technology projects. Students will learn effective internet research techniques to assist in their mastery of all tools of learning.
