BULLYING POLICY

St. Anthony School is committed to providing all students with a safe learning environment that is free from bullying and cyberbullying. Parents and students must sign an anti-bullying pledge at the beginning of each school year. This commitment is an integral part of our comprehensive efforts to promote learning, and to prevent and eliminate all forms of bullying and other harmful and disruptive behavior that can impede the learning process

We understand that at times, some students may be more vulnerable to becoming targets of bullying, harassment, or teasing.  Therefore, to ensure a safe, supportive environment for everyone in our school community, St. Anthony’s is working at developing a formal Bullying Prevention and Intervention Plan, as recommended by  M.G.L. c. 71, § 37O, which will involve students, staff, families, law enforcement agencies, and community.

We hope that the plan will provide all students with the skills, knowledge, and strategies to prevent or respond to bullying, harassment, or teasing.

Reporting Bullying or Retaliation

St. Anthony School expects students, parents or guardians, and others who witness or become aware of an instance of bullying or retaliation involving a student to report it to the teacher/principal.  Reports of bullying or retaliation may be oral or written. Reports may be made anonymously, but no disciplinary action will be taken against an alleged aggressor solely on the basis of an anonymous report.

You can also use our new e-mail stopbully@saseverett.com, or simply download and complete the Incident Reporting Form below.  The form can be emailed, mailed, or can be dropped off at the school office.

We hope that by working together we can stop and/or prevent bullying from taking roots in our school!
